Stephen Hawks



Stephen Hawk is a visual artist who has exhibited his work nationally, as well as in France and the Netherlands. For 19 years, he was the resident potter at Westville, a living history museum in Southwest Georgia, where he fired a 130 cu. ft. wood burning, ground hog kiln.

He recently finished an MFA in Tallahassee, Florida at Florida State University.  He has given lectures and workshops over the past 30 years in traditional pottery and hand building and has taught private classes in drawing and clay. His work and writing has been featured in Ceramics Monthly and several literary journals.

Besides ceramics his background in art includes experience in painting, theater, music, and poetry and performance video.
